Centerville Presbyterian Church cordially invites you to attend our first National Day of Prayer virtual gathering...
Via Zoom
Thursday - May 7, 2020
7 - 8:15 PM
The National Day of Prayer was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, to be an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. The Mission of the National Day of Prayer Task Force is to mobilize people of all faiths to unify in public prayer for our nation.
Why pray for America? Because God is the only hope for America and a hurting world beyond. Our hope does not rest in our economics, elections, or education. We can trust that God is everpresent in time of need. Now, more than ever, during this global virus pandemic, strength and resolution is found when we come together in unity of spirit to pray for God's protection and healing, wisdom and discernment, grace and mercy over our land and world in which we live.
Please join us and the faith community for a time of peaceful reflection and fervent prayer as we are invited to pray God's glory across the earth! We will be lifting up our country and its leaders, as well as the church, family, education, the marketplace, first responders and the media.
Let us pray into reality...."For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea." [Habakkuk 2:14]
